SNG Signs £300k contract with RenKap to Modernise Site Survey Procurement
SNG (Sovereign Network Group), one of the largest housing associations in England, has signed a three-year, £300,000 contract with RenKap to run site survey procurement and due diligence across its development portfolio.
Phased expansion across SNG is planned with the initial works starting with SNG’s London region. SNG’s development teams will use RenKap to tender, procure, instruct and manage the technical surveys behind their development and refurbishment projects. Technical surveys are the specialist checks a site or building needs before work can go ahead. They include topographical surveys, ecology surveys, utility surveys, asbestos surveys and many more. All of these can now be tendered, procured and managed through one streamlined platform. The aim is to demonstrate the benefits of the RenKap model during the initial six-month phase, then extend the platform across SNG’s wider network.
Why It Matters
SNG manages nearly 88,000 homes across the South and South West, including London and Hertfordshire, and plans 22,500 new homes over the next ten years. It has made a deliberate choice to change how it buys site surveys, to improve development efficiency through innovation across its development portfolio.
This programme follows the RenKap Small Site Accelerator, a pilot backed by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG). Four local authorities ran six sites each through RenKap over six months. The pilot saved three months in pre-planning time, reduced survey workflow costs by £12,000 per site and cut in-house management requirements by 90%.
How SNG's Teams Will Use RenKap

The contract opens with an initial six-month phase. It gives SNG’s teams time to embed the platform before the full term, which runs to 31 August 2029 with the option of a 12-month extension. For SNG, this first phase is about proving the model on live sites before extending it further.

What's Next
SNG has already uploaded several sites to RenKap and instructed surveys in London. Once the initial work has been demonstrated, the aim is to extend RenKap across all SNG regions.
